How much does a birth certificate cost?
The initial birth certificate is issued free of charge — the fee is GEL 0. Registration should be completed no later than the next working day after the required documents are submitted.
Who may apply?
An application may be filed by either parent, an authorised representative, or another authority specifically authorised by law. Required documents depend on the parents’ marital circumstances.
Foreign documents
Unless an exception applies, documents issued abroad must be apostilled or legalised and accompanied by a notarised translation.
