Child benefit in Georgia: this guide explains the applicable rights, rules, documents and procedures using official sources.
Georgia’s commonly named “child benefit” is not a universal payment for every child. It forms part of the living allowance for socially vulnerable families.
Amount and eligibility
A family with a social rating score below 120,001 receives GEL 200 per month for each family member under 16. The family must be registered in the unified database of socially vulnerable families.
How to apply
An adult family member or legal representative applies to the Agency with identity documents, birth certificates for children under 16 and registration documents. The family is assessed and assigned a score.
Suspension and restoration
Payment may be suspended while information is verified, documents are missing, or residence, family composition or socioeconomic data cannot be confirmed. Material changes must be reported within one month. Once the cause is removed, the family should file a registered restoration request. A suspended allowance may be restored from the suspension date; after termination, a fresh award procedure is required.
The GEL 200 component ends for a child upon turning 16. A score above the threshold or cancellation of database registration may terminate eligibility.
